Examination Results

The ALHCS is committed to having students excel in the various subject areas offered. The presentation below outlines the performance of students in the previous year.

Examination Boards

The ALHCS endeavours to cater to the comprehensive needs of its students. This necessitates utilizing several bodies to serve as independent examiners. Currently, four examining boards serve this purpose.

ALHCS Internal
The professionals at the ALHCS exercise their skills to prepare the syllabuses for subjects which are at a degree of academics not certified by any of the previous boards listed. The students are offered the opportunity to work at their own pace in subject areas of interest to them. These spin off subjects are geared at being relevant to real life experiences which the students will face.

Departments

There are sixteen diverse departments at the ALHCS. Subject delivery springs from within these departments which vary in the nature of subjects offered and number of subjects offered. Each department is led by a Head of Department who is directly responsible to the Deputy Principal- Curriculum.

Learn more about these departments by browsing through the documents below.

Teaching & Learning

The impetus of teaching and learning at the ALHCS is relevance and enjoyment!

The Effective Schools Framework is our working approach. This system is multi-tiered and comprises seven goals:

  • Goal 1
    Establish Behavioural Expectations
  • Goal 2
    Manage Student Behaviours
  • Goal 3
    Build Connectedness to School
  • Goal 4
Create Opportunities for Active Student Participation
  • Goal 5
Promote Healthy Lifestyles and Life Skills
  • Goal 6
    Establish Effective Home-School Partnerships
  • Goal 7
Implement Active Supervision of School Environment

Academically, a Banding System is utilized in the delivery of most subjects to enable students to meet and improve their performances. Bands 1 to 4 cater to the needs of students throughout Years 1 to 5 at Campus A & B. Students with special learning needs are included in the Special Education Needs section. Students can be transferred to WISE or PRU which operate specialized programmes.

Technologically, significant strides are being made to integrate technology into our teaching and learning. However, the ‘chalk’ is not scorned as effectiveness is the key. Greater infusion of technology is expected over the next few years.
